One common denominator in all the recent stories about Amazon's

new monthly subscription option and Netflix's

rate increase for grandfathered subscribers is that of content. It's easy to debate which of the streamers has the best series on stream but there's no question that content is always upcoming. On Monday, both Netflix and Amazon added top tier names to two of their higher profile projects which should catch the attention of analysts and investors. Earlier this year Amazon acquired the rights to the book "I Love Dick," which is being overseen by "Transparent" creator Jill Soloway. The series follows a married couple in Marfa, TX who become obsessed with a professor named Dick. "The Following's" Kevin Bacon has been tapped for the title role, while Kathryn Hahn, who recurs on "Transparent," will also co-star. Over on Netflix, its psychological thriller "Gypsy" has brought on Naomi Watts as its lead. She'll play a therapist who begins to develop dangerous and intimate relationships with the people in her patients' lives. "Fifty Shades of Grey's" Sam Taylor-Johnson will direct the first two episodes.
