- Tinder, the world's most popular app for meeting new people, today announced its acquisition of Humin - the contextual relationship and contact management platform. Under the terms of the agreement, Tinder acquires Humin's technology and IP. In addition, Humin leadership and many members of the team will work for Tinder on an ongoing basis. Humin co-founders Ankur Jain and David Wyler will join Tinder's team as VP of Product and VP of Partnerships, respectively, leading an exciting new product initiative, which leverages the IP and experience gained at Humin. Humin's products include Humin Contacts, the app that allows you to hold your contacts in one convenient app, and Knock Knock, an easy way to connect, chat and swap contact information with people around you. "It's clear that the team deeply believes in our vision and future plans," said Sean Rad, Founder and CEO of Tinder. "We're excited to leverage their experience and IP to accelerate our product roadmap along with some other exciting projects we have in the works." "After meeting Sean in Dublin, it became abundantly clear that we were both fighting for the same thing," said Ankur Jain, co-founder at Humin. "We wanted to use technology to get people off their phones and building relationships in the real world. By joining Tinder, we are able to solve these problems at an unprecedented scale." The strategic acquisition comes as Tinder expands its leadership team to better position the company as it continues its rapid growth.
