announced on Wednesday the appointment of a new CEO.
Mark Toland has been appointed as CEO and a member of Corindus Board of Directors and will replace David Handler who previously announced his retirement.
Toland joins Corindus from
Boston Scientific CorporationBSX, a manufacturer of medical devices. Toland most recently held the title of Senior Vice President, Corporate Accounts & Global Healthcare Solutions.
Toland has spent more than 18 years at Boston Scientific and held other responsibilities including sales and operations across multiple cardiovascular business segments.
"Mark is a highly respected industry veteran with proven leadership skills and an exceptional track record of growing organizations within the interventional cardiovascular industry," said Jeffrey Lightcap, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Corindus. "Mark's deep cath lab insights and strategic vision will be instrumental to leading Corindus as we build upon our strong foundation and work to capture the significant potential of robotics in the cath lab."
