Chatter of Potential JNJ Deal to Acquire GlaxoSmithKline
The Rumor:
Shares of GlaxoSmithKline (NYSE: GSK) surged higher Thursday, on unconfirmed market chatter of a potential offer from Johnson & Johnson (NYSE: JNJ). "Sources" say the offer could be the low $50s in cash and stocks.
Spokespersons for GSK and JNJ were not available for comment.
GlaxoSmithKline closed at $40.64 on Thursday up $0.04.
Chatter of Possible Broadcom Bid for Ambarella
The Rumor:
Shares of Ambarella (NASDAQ: AMBA) rose as high as $38.50 Thursday, on unconfirmed market chatter of a potential offer of $52 in cash from Broadcom (NASDAQ: BRCM), according to "sources." Broadcom is being acquired by Avago Technologies for $37 billion.
Ambarella closed at $37.41 on Thursday, up 2.69%.
Digital Realty Trust Looking to Acquire Interxion
The Rumor:
Shares of Interxion Holding (NASDAQ: INXN) spiked higher Thursday, on a report from DealReporter that it is a takeover target of Digital Realty Trust (NYSE: DLR).
Interxion and Digital Realty trust did not respond to requests for comment.
Interxion closed at $31.14 on Thursday, up 7.%.
Brookfield Asset Management Considers Buying General Growth Properties
The Rumor:
Brookfield Asset Management Inc (NYSE: BAM) has been contemplating the acquisition of General Growth Properties Inc (NYSE: GGP), according to sources as reported by Reuters on Thursday.
Brookfield currently owns approximately 34% of General Growth Properties is said to have approached potential partners about taking the company private.
Brookfield declined comment on the report; General Growth did not respond to requests for comment.
