Darden Restaurants, Inc. DRI is going high-end for one night and charging $400 a guest at its Olive Garden chain.
According to Market Watch, Olive Garden in Times Square will be charging guests $400 for dinner on New Year's Eve. The price includes a DJ, open bar, and a buffet meal - but without any breadsticks.
Not too far away, Ruby Tuesday, Inc. RT's Times Square location will charge its guests anywhere from $349 a head to $1,699 for a "Couple's VIP Table."
It's natural to assume at these prices diners will be able to see the iconic ball drop. Unfortunately, this will not be the case as Olive Garden's location offers a "limited view" while Ruby Tuesday diners can seed the ball drop if they are "fortunate enough to make it outside."
