Amazon Says 3 Million Members Signed Up For Prime During The Third Week Of December

were trading higher by nearly 1 percent at $668.23 after the company announced on Monday morning more than three million members across the world joined Prime during the third week of December. According to Amazon's
press release
, the 2015 holiday period was also the "best ever" for Amazon devices as the company doubled 2014's record-setting shopping season with "millions of devices sold." Amazon added that its all-new Fire tablet was the number one best-selling, most gifted and most wished-for product across millions of items. "Over 200 million more items shipped for free with Prime this holiday, and members doubled their viewing hours of Prime Video compared to last year with the Amazon Original Series The Man in the High Castle leading the way as the most watched TV season ever on Prime Video," Amazon's CEO Jeff Bezos said in the press release.
