US Stock Futures Signal Higher Start On Wall Street

Pre-open movers

US stock futures traded higher in early pre-market trade. Data on motor vehicle sales for November will be released today. The Markit's manufacturing PMI for November will be released at 9:45 a.m. ET, while the ISM manufacturing index for November and construction spending data for October will be released at 10:00 a.m. ET. Futures for the Dow Jones Industrial Average surged 77.5 points to 17,791.5, while the Standard & Poor's 500 index futures rose 8.25 points to 2,088.00. Futures for the Nasdaq 100 index gained 19.62 points to 4,688.38.

A Peek Into Global Markets

European markets were mostly higher today, with the Spanish Ibex Index rising 0.54 percent, STOXX Europe 600 Index surging 0.22 percent and German DAX 30 index dropping 0.05 percent. French CAC 40 Index slipped 0.03 percent and London's FTSE 100 Index rose 0.55 percent.

In Asian markets, Japan's Nikkei Stock Average rose 1.34 percent, Hong Kong's Hang Seng Index climbed 1.75 percent, China's Shanghai Composite Index surged 0.32 percent and India's BSE Sensex gained 0.09 percent.

Broker Recommendation
Analysts at Barclays upgraded Johnson & Johnson (NYSE: JNJ) from Equal-weight to Overweight and raised the price target from $101.00 to $115.00.

Johnson & Johnson shares fell 0.89 percent to close at $101.46 on Monday.
