US Stock Futures Edge Higher Ahead Of Economic Data

US stock futures traded higher in early pre-market trade. Data on import & export prices for September will be released at 8:30 a.m. ET, while wholesale inventories data for August will be released at 10:00 a.m. ET. Futures for the Dow Jones Industrial Average surged 26 points to 16,992.0, while the Standard & Poor's 500 index futures rose 3 points to 2,009.50. Futures for the Nasdaq 100 index gained 2.50 points to 4,347.25.

European markets were mixed today, with the Spanish Ibex Index rising 1.47 percent, STOXX Europe 600 Index gaining 0.95 percent and German DAX 30 index gaining 1.44 percent. French CAC 40 Index jumped 1.17 percent and London's FTSE 100 Index rose 1.14 percent. In Asian markets, Japan's Nikkei Stock Average jumped 1.64 percent, Hong Kong's Hang Seng Index rose 0.46 percent, China's Shanghai Composite Index jumped 1.17 percent and India's BSE Sensex climbed 0.87 percent.

Analysts at Barclays downgraded

from Equal-weight to Underweight and lowered the price target from $190.00 to $180.00. Tesla shares fell 2.91 percent to $220.12 in pre-market trading.
