- Elon Musk has once again piqued the interest of fans and investors, after saying in a tweet (which he later deleted) that a Model Y will also be released.
- Shares of Tesla fell 3.93 percent on Wednesday.
On October 2, a Twitter user asked if the upcoming Tesla Model 3 – a mass produced and more affordable electric car- would also come in a crossover version with Falcon Wing doors like the ones on the recently released Model X.
Musk responded, “there will be a Model 3 and a Model Y. One of the two will.”
Chatter about the crossover vehicle has been around for a while now, and speculation has been mounting since the company’s VP of Engineering Chris Porritt said, “the Tesla Model 3, will spawn a number of derivatives that could include an SUV and an estate in order to attract a broader spread of customers,” BGR pointed out.
