The following are the M&A deals, rumors and chatter circulating on Wall Street for Monday April 13, 2015: Alamos Gold, AuRico Gold to Merge The Deal:
Alamos Gold Inc. AGI and AuRico Gold Inc.AUQ announced that they have agreed to merge their respective companies in a transcation valued at approximately US$1.5 billion. Alamos shares will receive, for each share held, 1 MergeCo share and $0.0001 in cash, and holders of AuRico shares will receive, for each share held, 0.5046 MergeCo shares. The deal is expected to close in Q2 of 2015. Alamos Gold shares rose 5.5% Monday at $6.28, a gain of 6.5%. AuRico Gold shares rose 8.5%, to close at $3.25. Nokia Said to be in Talks to Acquire Alcatel-Lucent Assets The Rumor:
Shares of Alcatel-Lucent ALU spiked higher Monday, on < ahref="http://www.bloomberg.com/news/articles/2015-04-13/nokia-said-in-advanced-talks-to-acquire-alcatel-lucent-assets">a report from Bloomberg, that Nokia NOK was in talks to acquire ALU assets, according to sources. A deal could be announced as early as this week. Spokespersons for Nokia and Alcatel-Lucent declined comment on the report. Alcatel-Lucent shares gained 8.5% Monday, closing at $4.40. Hearing Renewed Chatter of Pfizer Bid to Acquire Bristol-Myers Squibb The Rumor:
Shares of Bristol-Myers Squibb BMY rose Monday, on renewed market chatter of a bid from Pfizer PFE. Spokepersons for Bristol-Myers Squibb and Pfizer were not availabale for comment. Bristol-Myers Squibb shares gained lost 1% Monday, closing at $63.93. Hearing Renewed Chatter of Intel Interest in Broadcom The Rumor:
Shares of Broadcom Corp. BRCM surged higher early Monday, on renewed unconfirmed market chatter of a potential bid from Intel Corporation INTC. Last week, Broadcom shares rose on chatter that Intel might be pursing a bid for Broadcom, rather than for Altera Corp. ALTR. Spokespersons for Intel and Broadcom did not respond to requests for comment. Broadcom shares gained $0.31 Monday, closing at $44.54. Cadian, TIG Reportedly Pushing for Altera Sale to Intel The Rumor:
Shares of Altera Corp. ALTR spiked higher after-hours Monday, on a report from Bloomberg, that Altera shareholders Cadian Capital Management and TIG Advisors are pushing for a sale of the company to Intel Corporation INTC. The Wall Street Journal reported on March 27, that Intel was in talks to acquire Altera. However, those talks reportedly stalled. A spokesperson for Intel declined comment. Altera did not respond to a request for comment. Altera shares lost $0.66 Monday, closing at $43.83. IBM Acquires Explorys, Phytel The Deals:
IBM IBM announced Monday, plans to acquire healthcare intelligence cloud company Explorys, which becomes part of IBM's new Watson Health unit, launched today. IBM also announced plans to acquire a provider of integrated population health management software, Phytel. Terms of the deals were not disclosed. IBM lost $0.48 Monday, closing at $162.38.
