The following are the M&A deals, rumors and chatter circulating on Wall Street for Friday March 7 through Sunday March 29, 2015: Intel in Talks to Buy Altera The Rumor:
Shares of Altera Corp SGYP spiked sharply higher late Friday, on a on a report from the Wall Street Journal that the company is in talks to be acquired by Intel Corporation INTC. Such a deal would be the largest ever for Intel. A spokesperson for Altera declined comment to Benzinga on Friday. An Intel spokesperson was not immediately available for comment. Altera shares closed Friday at $44.39, a gain of 28%. Amazon Denies it's in Talks to Acquire Net-a-Porter The Rumor:
Amazon.com AMZN denied Friday, that it is in talks to acquire Net-a-Porter, according to Forbes. Earlier reports said Amazon was considering buying the online luxury retailer for about $2.19 billion. Reuters reported Sunday, that Yoox was the lead contender for Net-a-Porter, and a deal could be announced as soon as this week, according to sources. Amazon gained $3.21 Friday, closing at $370.56. Sabre Could Make Non-US Acquisition in Q2 The Filing:
Sabre Corporation SABR said in an 8-K filing on Friday, that it isin active negotiations for a potential non-U.S. acquisition within the Travel Network business segment, for which it is possible an agreement could be reached in Q2 of 2015. Sabre gained $0.21 Friday, closing at $23.88.
