Shares of Synergy Pharmaceuticals, Inc. SGYP spiked higher Thursday, on a report from Bloomberg that the company is working with advisors on options, including a potential sale. A spokesperson for the company declined comment. A Cantor Fitzgerald analyst had said last week that Synergy could sell for $8.50 per share. Synergy Pharmaceuticals shares closed Thursday at $4.11, a gain of $0.29. Report Ocwen Considering Sale The Rumor:
Shares of Ocwen Financial Corp. OCN initially spiked higher Thursday, on a report from Inside Mortgage Finance that the company could be considering a sale. Ocwen recently announced the sale of a $25 billion portfolio of mortgage servicing rights to Nationstar Mortgage Holdings Inc. NSM. Prior to that Ocwen sold a $9.6 billion portfolio to Green Tree. A spokesperson for Nationstar Mortgage declined comment on the report, while a spokesperson for Ocwen did not respond to a request for comment. Ocwen shares lost $0.15 Thursday, closing at $8.23. Nationstar shares lost $0.16, closing at $25.83. Fudzilla Reports Samsung Interested in Acquiring AMD The Rumor:
Shares of Advanced Micro Devices, Inc. AMD rose early Thursday on a report from Fudzilla that Samsung Electronics Co. Ltd. SSNLF might have an interest in acquiring the semiconductor company. Spokespersons for AMD and Samsung were not available for comment AMD shares gained $0.02 Thursday, closing at $2.65. Dover to Sell Sargent Aerospace & Defense to RBC Bearings for $500M The Deal:
Dover DOV announced Thursday, that it has signed a definitive agreement to sell its Sargent Aerospace & Defense unit in Tucson, Arizona, to RBC Bearings Incorporated ROLL for $500 million. The transaction is expected to close in Q2 of 2015. Dover shares closed at $69.50 Thursday, and traded down $0.16 after-hours.
