Report: T-Mobile US Could Attract Potential Buyers
Deutsche Telekom's CEO Timotheus Hoettges said in an interview in Barcelona, Spain, that T-Mobile US Inc (NYSE: TMUS) remains an attractive asset for a potential acquirer.
Bloomberg reported on Wednesday afternoon that Deutsche Telekom, parent company to T-Mobile US, believes that Comcast Corporation (NASDAQ: CMCSA), America Movil SAB de CV (ADR) (NYSE: AMX) and Dish Network Corp (NASDAQ: DISH) are companies that could seek to control the fourth-largest U.S. mobile company.
Japan based SoftBank, and parent company to Sprint (NYSE: S), could make a fresh attempt at acquiring T-Mobile, according to Hoettges. The executive also said that providers of software and other services over the Internet could be looking for network infrastructure in the United States.
"Does that mean that we have to do a fast sale or something like that? Not at all," Hoettges said in Spain. "It's a growth stock at this point in time and there are optionalities in the market."
