PharmAthene (NYSE: PIP) shares gained 46.38% to $1.84 after a Delaware court ordered SIGA Technologies to pay lump sum expectation damages to PharmAthene for lost profits relating to SIGA's smallpox antiviral.
Chiquita Brands International (NYSE: CQB) climbed 29.32% to $13.01 after the Cutrale Group and the Safra Group proposed to acquire Chiquita Brands for $13.00 per share in cash.
Doral Financial (NYSE: DRL) jumped 26.35% to $7.00 after the company and Puerto Rico Treasury Department entered into court-supervised negotiations to settle all claims by company related to lawsuit.
Kinder Morgan Management LLC (NYSE: KMR) shares gained 25.71% to $96.82. Kinder Morgan (NYSE: KMI), Kinder Morgan Energy Partners, L.P. (NYSE: KMP), Kinder Morgan Management and El Paso Pipeline Partners, L.P. (NYSE: EPB) announced that KMI will acquire all of the outstanding equity securities of the three publicly-traded units.
MannKind (NASDAQ: MNKD) shares jumped 21.72% to $9.90 on Afrezza licensing deal.
El Paso Pipeline Partners, L.P. (NYSE: EPB) shares rose 20.92% to $40.63.
Kinder Morgan Energy Partners, L.P. (NYSE: KMP) surged 18.52% to $95.22.
Kinder Morgan (NYSE: KMI) rose 15.09% to $41.57 after the company announced its plans to combine four publicly-traded companies in a deal valued at $70 billion. Kinder Morgan will also raise dividend by 16% to $2.00 per share in 2015.
Achillion Pharmaceuticals (NASDAQ: ACHN) climbed 7.38% to $7.90 after gaining 5.14% on Friday. Piper Jaffray upgraded Achillion Pharma from Neutral to Overweight and raised the price target from $5.00 to $10.00.
Tata Motors (NYSE: TTM) shares surged 5.83% to $40.47 after the company reported a strong rise in its net profit for the fiscal first quarter.
