Yahoo Names Michael Kali To Head IT, Data Center Ops

Yahoo Inc. (YHOO) named Michael Kali to head its information technology and data center operations Wednesday. Effective immediately, Kali assumes the roles of chief information officer and senior vice president of infrastructure. Kali most recently served as vice president of information technology at Netflix Inc.

. Previously, he played a similar role at Attensity, a privately held Salt Lake City software concern. Chief Executive Marissa Mayer said Kali's selection followed an intensive search. "The strength of our technical infrastructure is critical as we aim to deliver the best possible user and advertiser experiences," Mayer said. Yahoo traded recently at $35.83, nearly unchanged.
