DISH Network DISH announced Wednesday that its wholly-owned subsidiary, DISH Acquisition Holding Corporation, is withdrawing its tender offer to acquire all of the outstanding shares of Class A Common Stock of Clearwire Corporation for $4.40 per share. Clearwire's Special Committee recommended in favor of a $5.00 per share bid by Sprint S on June 20. Clearwire closed at $5.09 Wednesday, and traded around $5.00 after-hours. Report Cerberus of Bid for Harris Teeter The Rumor:
Shares of Harris Teeter HTSI rose Wednesday on a report from the Wall Street Journal that Cerberus Capital Management has made a bid for the supermarket chain operator. Rumors of a sale of the company were first reported in February, with a list of potential buyers that included Kroger KR. Harris Teeter closed at $47.33 Wednesday, a gain of 3% on 2.5 times average volume.
