Greenlight Capital's David Einhorn Takes Stake in Google

According to his recent 13F, Greenlight Capital (David Einhorn's hedge fund) took a stake in Google GOOG in the quarter ended December 31. Greenlight purchased 63,000 shares of the Internet giant. Shares of Google were little changed in after-hours trading. Einhorn is now pairing his massive stake in Apple AAPL -- now totalling over 1.3 million shares in addition to call options -- with a stake in Google. He also retained his stake in shares of Yahoo YHOO. With this positioning, the hedge fund is fairly heavily exposed to the tech sector. To be fair, 13F filings are out of date. It's possible that Einhorn could've dumped his entire Google stake within the last six weeks or so. But still, the noted short seller obviously sees some positive signs in the sector.
