US stock futures are slightly higher this morning after Alcoa's

results. Futures for the Dow Jones Industrial Average surged 16 points to 13,283.00 and S&P 500 index futures rose 0.90 points to 1,453.20. Nasdaq 100 futures gained 0.75 points to 2,714.75. US stocks closed lower on Tuesday, with the Dow Jones Industrial Average dropping 0.41% to 13,328.85, the S&P 500 index falling 0.32% to 1,457.15 and the Nasdaq 100 index declining 0.23% to 3,091.81. The MBA purchase applications index will be released at 7:00 a.m. ET. Constellation Brands

Hong Kong's Hang Seng Index gained 0.46% and India's Sensex dropped 0.38%. Crude oil for February delivery dropped $0.20 to trade at $92.95 a barrel. The ICE dollar index (DXY) gained 0.15% to trade at 80.45, versus 80.323 in late North American trading Tuesday.
