In what is a stunning a blow to Republican Mitt Romney's election efforts, President Obama is the projected winner of Ohio and its 18 electoral votes. Analysts, pundits and so-called experts viewed Ohio as essential to Romney's chances of victory. No candidate has lost Ohio and won the presidency since 1964. At 11:15 p.m. Eastern time, Obama leads Romney in the electoral college 262-203. Obama is just eight votes shy of the 270 necessary to win.
