Celanese Prevails in Case Filed By Southern Chemical Corporation; Methanol Supply Continues Under Existing Contract

, a global technology and specialty materials company, today announced that a jury has ruled in its favor in litigation filed by Southern Chemical Corporation (“Southern”) relating to the terms of a multi-year methanol supply contract for Celanese's U.S. and Mexico-based operations. The jury determined that the contract should continue until its expiration and found that Celanese did not violate the terms of the contract. “We are pleased with the jury's verdict and expect Southern to continue to supply methanol under the terms of our contract,” said Gjon N.
