Sony Launches Cloud Music Service "Music Unlimited" in Japan

announced the launch of its cloud-based music subscription service, called "Music Unlimited," in Japan on Tuesday. The company's press release stated that users will be able to "listen to over 10 million songs managed in the cloud, across a variety of compatible Sony devices and more, at home or on the go." The company said that its catalogue of songs will increase over time. The music service debuted in the UK and Ireland in December 2010 and has been expanded to countries across Europe and North America, according to Sony. After the Japan launch, "Music Unlimited" is now available in 17 countries. The service competes with other popular online music platforms such as Pandora
