YouTube Expands Movie Rentals

Now British YouTube lovers have another way to rent their favorite films.

is continuing its plans for video streaming domination with the launch of movie rentals in England,
TechCrunch reports
. “Back in May we brought new release movies and more for rent to YouTube in the US,” YouTube
wrote on its blog
. “Last month, we took it to Canada. Now, over a thousand full-length feature films from major Hollywood and British studios are available for rent in the UK at
youtube.com/movies
.” The Dark Knight, Reservoir Dogs, Hanna, Fast Five, Monty Python's The Meaning of Life and Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels are among the movies being featured on the site. Prices range from £2.49 to £3.49. “Many movie pages also feature YouTube Movie Extras with free behind-the-scenes videos, cast interviews, parodies, clips and remixes from YouTube's unique community of content creators,” YouTube wrote. “Over time we'll also be adding additional videos and features to YouTube Movie Extras so that you can get even more into movies on YouTube.” According to TechCrunch, YouTube signed several deals with film companies in England, including Sony Pictures
