By 10:35 am, the Dow Jones Industrial Average was up 84.62 points, or 0.67%, to 12,710.64, while the broader Standard & Poor's 500 index had gained 11.33 points, or 0.85%. The NASDAQ composite index rose 29.02 points, or 1.02%.
