The Rapture To Level The Playing Field For Detroit

According to reports, the Rapture is great news for those that get zapped to Heaven, but not so great for Earth. The massive earthquake that has been predicted will result in tremendous damage to the streets. Buildings will crumble. Crime will rise to an unimaginable degree. Without the good guys to keep an eye out, the public officials that are left will run riot with the taxpayer's money. On top of that, a large percentage of the population will have simply disappeared. As a resident of Detroit, that all sounds incredibly familiar. In fact, mention the Rapture to the average Detroiter, and they will simply shrug their shoulders and throw you a look of tired resignation. In financial terms, there's little more than can be thrown at these people. At least the Rapture will level the playing field a little. The Rapture could actually be a very good thing for Detroit. This is a city that knows exactly how to deal with pain and despair. There will be a lot of good people who don't make it to Heaven because they've been too busy trying to feed their families to make it to church. As a destination for those looking to escape total chaos, Detroit, ironically, could well be the calmest place in the United States. See you all on Sunday.
