Shares of DARA BioSciences Inc (NASDAQ: DARA) dropped about 10% after the company announced the pricing of its public offering. DARA priced its offering of up to 4800 units at $1000 per unit to the public.
According to the Wall Street Journal, Groupon has filed a request to raise up to $950 million by offering preferred shares. Groupon earlier turned down a takeover offer of $6 billion from Google Inc (GOOG). Groupon filed a request to offer 30.1 million preferred shares at a price of $31.59 per share.
Gold futures dropped slightly, after gaining for the previous two days. The dollar index (DXY) fell 0.14% to 80.25. Against the greenback, the euro gained about 0.1144%. Gold for February delivery lost $0.50 to $1,405.10 an ounce.
