The Taiwan Capitalization Weighted Stock Index, or the TSEC weighted index, opened the Monday trading session in Taiwan at 8,866.67, which was slightly higher than the previous trading day's close of 8,861.10. The TSEC weighted index fell into negative territory shortly after the market opened but was back in positive territory before noon and remained there for the rest of the Monday trading session, ending the day up 31.21 points, or 0.35%, at 8,892.31.
