While Amazon.com, Inc. AMZN's Prime Day is under way right now, Social Radar V.P. of Social Marketing, Shana Glenze, was on Fox Business News to provide early insights into how the day is turning out to be for Amazon.

Freebies And Sweepstakes

Glenze highlighted how Amazon is trying to woo customers to platform, saying, "They have been giving away some of these devices that enable you to quickly reorder things like laundry detergent or dish soap. They're doing a lot of things trying to get people on the site."

She continued, "One is they're rolling out deals, every 10 minutes there is a new deal on Amazon for Amazon Prime members, and secondly, they're doing a lot of sweepstakes. So, if you listen to one song on Amazon Prime Music today you are registered to win a $25,000 prize. So, they're getting people to the site with these sweepstakes."

Both Good And Bad For Amazon

Glenze was asked if the Prime Day is turning out to be successful for Amazon based on early indications. She replied, "I think the early indications are just how much coverage they're getting and all different kinds of sites. And also, so my husband actually tried to order something just a few minutes ago from Amazon -- we're Prime members, full disclosure -- and the site was kind of spinning because there is like too much traffic going to it."

"So, that's good and bad for Amazon that for people that are loyal like us, we get kind of get annoyed when we can't get what we want kind of fast. But the deals are great for folks that are looking to save some bucks," Glenze said.
