Fox Anchor Bashes Rival For Lack of Coverage

Fox Business Network anchor Neil Cavuto took a jab at a rival network on Tuesday during the closing comments of Fox's Iowa Caucus coverage. Following seven-plus hours of live reporting, at approximately 2:38 a.m. EST, Cavuto took the shot ostensibly at CNBC, who had been broadcasting reruns rather than reporting. You can see the video here. Cavuto, visibly tired, said “Thank you all for staying with us but I promised you from the beginning that we would not leave until we had an announced winner, even though it has to be confirmed for two weeks… I promised you from the beginning Fox Business was going to be all over this because in this case it wasn't about the caucuses, it was about the cash. No one covers all sides of this Like Fox Business. A certain rival network was and is in taped programming much of the night. A historic battle in the Republican Party just got started and the so-called financial network of record, in reruns… We're not stopping. We're here, around the clock.” Cavuto does have a point. Having hosted the Republican Debate in Detroit back in November, it is somewhat surprising that CNBC didn't cover the entire Iowa Caucus when the economy has been one of the top issues on the docket this election. As the exhausted Cavuto came to a close, he added one final, surreal thought. “I am going to be like the guest who refuses to leave your home in the middle of the night after a party, ordering pay-per-view and raiding your refrigerator. I'm gonna keep doing it all year.”
