USDA Daily Hog Slaughter; Lean Hog Futures Sharply Higher

Monday's USDA hog slaughter was 443,000 head versus a year ago at 441,000 head December lean hogs are trading at 49.70, up 1.90 cents/lb. February lean hogs are trading at 56.30, up 2.12 cents/lb. April lean hogs are trading at 62.60, up 1.47 cents/lb. Lean hogs futures traded sharply higher, some producer selling late in the session eased prices off the highs.
