Lean Hog Futures Little Changed

December lean hogs are trading at 48.07, up 0.02 cents/lb. February lean hogs are trading at 54.72, up 0.20 cents/lb. April lean hogs are trading at 61.82, up 0.07 cents/lb. Lean hog futures are trading steady after Wednesday's sharp move up. Market talk about consumer demand and hog supplies ahead is making the rounds. Some chatter about sellers starting to show up at current prices is making the rounds. Buyers are seen under prevailing prices. Trading is expected to be very choppy. Wednesday's USDA hog slaughter was 442,000 head, the total for the week is now 1,321,000 head versus 1,328,000 head last week at this time and 1,314,000 head a year ago.
