Live Cattle Futures Higher

December live cattle is trading at 104.65, up 1.17 cents/lb. February live cattle is trading at 105.70, up 1.02 cents/lb. April live cattle is trading at 105.60, up 0.87 cents/lb. Live cattle futures are trading choppy and near the session highs Chatter about consumer demand and cash prices has kept buyers and sellers active. Wednesday's USDA cattle slaughter was 115,000 head. The total for last week was is now 341,000 head versus 627,000 head last year at this time.
