U.S. Dollar Index Moves Up, Industrial Production Slips

The December U.S. Dollar Index is trading at 95.37, up 0.12. The U.S. Dollar Index is trading near session highs after showing weakness early in the day. Market chatter about money flows and global headline news is making the rounds. The Federal Reserve report reported that Industrial production slipped 0.4 percent on the month in August versus a 0.6 percent rise in July. Year over year industrial production was down 1.1 percent versus a 0.4 percent decline in July. Capacity utilization slipped to 75.5 percent from 75.9 percent. The Census Bureau is scheduled to report business inventories at 10:00 a.m. ET.
