Lean Hog Futures Little Changed

August lean hogs are trading at 77.85, down 0.07 cents/lb. October lean hogs are trading at 65.90, down 0.10 cents /lb. December lean hogs are trading at 59.52, down 0.05 cents/lb Lean hog futures are trading steady just after the open Monday. Market chatter weather and cash prices is making the rounds. The U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) monthly cold storage report is due out Friday at 3:00 p.m. ET The USDA hog slaughter last week was 2.121 million head, up 2 percent from a year ago. Pork production for the week was 444.1 million pounds, up 1.6 percent from last year.
