For 2023 as a whole, the S&P 500 is up 25%, marking its third-best year in the last two decades, and sharply recovering from a 19.4% decline in 2022.

The best-performing stock within the S&P 500 for 2023 has been NVIDIA Corp. NVDA, with an astounding 240% increase since the year’s outset. This marks Nvidia’s strongest year since 2001, when it soared by 310%.

Following closely is Meta Platform Inc. META with a 198% increase, nearly doubling its performance compared to its previous best year in 2013, when it surged by 105%.

In the third position is Crowdstrike Holdings Inc. CRWD with a 143% increase. The fourth spot goes to Advanced Micro Devices Inc. AMD, delivering a return of 130%. Rounding out the top five is Palo Alto Networks Inc. PANW with a notable 112% increase.
