Qantas Airways Likely To Reach New Boeing 787 Widebody Order: Report

Boeing Co BA is likely to reach a deal for more of its 787 Dreamliner aircraft from Qantas Airways Ltd QABSY in Australia.

The number of the aircraft remains unspecified, and the order is expected to be announced this month, according to a report from Reuters.

The deal will be the first order of the 787-10 model for Qantas, which is an elongated version of the 787-9.

The order deal can also remain unrealized unless and until the airline board approval is received.

The report noted the Australian carrier last placed a Dreamliner order in 2018.

In 2022, it placed an order for a dozen A350-1000s. Incoming Qantas CEO Vanessa Hudson said in June that the carrier would start a competition to replace existing A330 jets by 2023 end.
