Elon Musk's SpaceX Set To Launch Starship Rocket On Symbolic Cannabis Date Of 4/20

Tesla Inc TSLA CEO Elon Musk is known for supporting cannabis. He has been promoting it occasionally and, recently, by allowing cannabis brands onto Twitter, where he is also CEO.

Now, at SpaceX (where he is also CEO), Musk is planning an inaugural test flight for April 20, an unofficial holiday commemorated by marijuana enthusiasts.

The rocket is expected to fly into a partial orbit of Earth.

The debut launch of the fully integrated Starship and Super Heavy rocket, 394 feet from Starbase in Texas, was originally delayed due to a frozen valve.

The 62-minute launch window is now scheduled to open at 8:28 a.m. CT and close at 9:30 a.m. CT on Thursday, April 20.

(Un)Intentional Support For Cannabis

Musk's "420" tweet resonated with Twitter users worldwide, as more than 76 million users have viewed it at the time of writing.

Even though Musk has said cannabis is not good for productivity, at least not for him, he has been asking the right questions to address the need for cannabis policy change.

Moreover, during Brittney Griner's 10-month ordeal, Musk took a bold stance last July when he shared a meme of a guy with his hands on his hips saying, "people in the U.S. in jail for weed while the government trades a Russian war criminal to free a woman's basketball player in jail for weed."
