State Street May List Breakeven Inflation ETF

State Street STT State Street Global Advisors (SSgA), the second-largest U.S. ETF issuer, filed plans with the Securities and Exchange Commission to possibly list the SPDR Barclays Capital Breakeven Inflation ETF. The ETF would track an index designed to follow the breakeven rate of U.S. inflation. Break-even inflation is the difference between the nominal yield on a fixed-rate investment and the real yield (fixed spread) on an inflation-linked investment of similar maturity and credit quality, according to Inflation-Linked. The ETF's Index will be rebalanced monthly. The filing did not include a ticker or expense ratio for the new ETF. SSgA had 104 ETFs with $264.5 billion in assets under management at the end of November, according to data from the National Stock Exchange.
