Bloomberg: Stanley Druckenmiller Retirement Update

This morning we covered Stanley Druckenmiller's
retirement announcement
. This is a big story, as Druckenmiller is the former protege of George Soros and has one of the best long-term track records in the hedge fund business. Over the last few years, Druckenmiller has not been able to keep up with his historical average of around 30% annual returns, and said that he has been frustrated with both his performance and the stress of managing other people's money - the guy is worth around $3.5 billion so he doesn't really have to manage OPM to pay the bills anymore - so he is quitting. Logical decision. Druckenmiller is quitting while he is still ahead, although his fund, Duquesne Capital, is down around 5% year-to-date. Duquesne has never had a losing year.
