The major U.S. stock indices are mixed in afternoon trade on Tuesday. The Dow and S&P 500 are both solidly in positive territory, but the Nasdaq is lower in part due to a continued sell-off in shares of Apple
AAPL
. At last check the Dow had added roughly 88 points to 13,014 while the S&P was up just under 5 points to 1,371. The Nasdaq had lost 0.33%, led by AAPL which was trading down 2.54% to $557.20 ahead of its earnings report which is due out after the close. On a sector basis, the leaders to the upside are conglomerates and transportation stocks, with gains of 1.53% and 1.08%, respectively. Technology is lagging the broader market badly, with a loss of 0.65% and is the only major sector that is in the red on the session.
