The field of National Football League teams still standing and competing for a spot in Super Bowl LVIII is down to eight teams.

One bettor is banking on one of those eight teams reaching and winning Super Bowl LVIII, aiming for a massive profit from the victory.

What Happened: In the world of sports betting, parlays continue to grow in popularity. This can include parlays across multiple sports, same game parlays that include only one game or player props, such as a touchdown parlay that paid out nearly $500,000 to one lucky NFL bettor earlier this season.

Some bettors also parlay the winners of championships across multiple leagues, which is a high risk, high reward bet, as it includes needing to correctly predict multiple championship winners.

One bettor placed a $10 bet with FanDuel, which is owned by Flutter Entertainment PDYPY, predicting the outcome of four league championships.

The bettor's parlay includes the following championship picks and their odds at the time of the bet:

  • Las Vegas Aces WNBA Champions: -230
  • Texas Rangers MLB Champions: +850
  • Michigan NCAA Football Champions: +850
  • Baltimore Ravens NFL Champions (Super Bowl LVIII): +1,800

It is unclear when the bet, which was shared by BR Betting, was placed, but the WNBA Championship took place in October, which would have been the final time to make the parlay. The Aces were +120 to win the championship before the season began, which means the bet likely took place in September or October 2023.

The Aces won the WNBA Championship, the Rangers won the World Series and Michigan recently won the NCAA Football Championship, which leaves just the Ravens needing to win to complete the parlay.

The parlay comes with odds of +245,929 and pays out $24,602.93 if all legs are successful. The bettor would net a profit of $24,592.90 if the Ravens win.

Currently, the bettor has a couple options. They can cash out and take $4,350.30 to close out the bet and profit no matter who wins the Super Bowl. The bettor could also let the bet ride and continue to hope that the Ravens win in the NFL Playoffs and get closer to the Super Bowl.

The bettor could also hedge and bet on other outcomes in the NFL Playoffs, which could be a good option as it gets closer to the Super Bowl. The cash out option could also improve with each Ravens win.

What's Next: The Ravens and Texans play in the NFL Divisional Round playoff game on Saturday, Jan. 20 at 4:30 p.m. ET. The game will be broadcast on ESPN, ESPN2 and ABC, which are units of The Walt Disney Company DIS.

The Ravens are favored by nine points in the game, according to data from sportsbook DraftKings Inc DKNG. The Texans upset the Cleveland Browns in the Wild Card round, while the Ravens had a bye as the number one seed in the AFC.

With eight teams left, here's a look at the current odds to win Super Bowl LVIII from DraftKings:

  • San Francisco 49ers: +175
  • Baltimore Ravens: +290
  • Buffalo Bills: +500
  • Kansas City Chiefs: +700
  • Detroit Lions: +900
  • Tampa Bay Buccaneers: +2500
  • Green Bay Packers: +2500
  • Houston Texans: +2800

The Ravens beat the Texans 25 to 9 in Week 1 of the 2023 regular season.

A win over the Texans would see the Ravens take on the winner of the Chiefs and Bills. The Ravens did not face either team during the regular season. The Ravens beat the 49ers 33-19 in Week 16 and beat the Lions 38 to 6 in Week 7.

The Ravens come into the NFL Playoffs hot, winning six of their last seven games. The team lost their final game of the season, as several starters sat out to rest with the number one seed already locked up.

With a 13-4 record, the Ravens had the best record in the AFC and the entire NFL during the season. The team was 6-3 in home games during the regular season. As the number one seed, they will play at home this weekend and would also host the AFC Championship game.

Starting Ravens quarterback Lamar Jackson holds a 1-3 NFL Playoffs record.
