Barack Obama is Not Satan, Republicans Should Give Jon Huntsman a Chance.

Presidential candidate Jon Huntsman is among the most qualified people out there to run this country. He has had success running an 85,000 square mile state, a multi-billion dollar company, and a seven child family that includes an Asian and an Indian. (Is it politically incorrect for me to point that out?) Plus, he has been our ambassador to both China and Singapore. And his ads feature him riding a motorcycle and playing the organ. (Not at the same time.) What's not to like about Jon Huntsman? The GOP, however, has yet to consider him a top tier candidate—and a lot that stems from the fact that he was part of Obama's cabinet for nearly two years, serving as our nation's ambassador to China. In other words, plenty of Republicans hate him because he teamed up with Obama. Now, I am far from being a fan of Obama's. In fact, I have gone so far as to suggest adding an “Obama Amendment” to the Constitution, stating that if the federal government spends money like a maniac and does not bring down unemployment to a reasonable figure, our President should be exiled to Northern Europe immediately. (I will even pay for the plane ticket. Spending $500 on Obama's one way ticket to Norway is as patriotic as it gets.) But all that being said, Barack Obama is not Satan—and Huntsman should not be considered an enemy to conservatism merely because he “worked for Obama” for a couple of years. Jon Huntsman is a politician. Barack Obama is a politician. Politicians have to work with each other on a regular basis, even if they are not always in complete agreement. If Republicans want to get things done, they should not refuse to associate with Obama. Look at Hamas. It has taken a much different approach—and both Palestinians and Israelis are worse off because of it. Hamas's main positions have been a complete unwillingness to compromise, and a complete vilification of Israel and the US—and they have gotten nowhere on account of that. Was Jon Huntsman really supposed to reject Obama's offer of the ambassador position, merely because Obama is a Democrat? That would be like taking a page out of Hamas's Charter. The Founding Fathers disagreed on many issues—but they were able to work together and create a new country with a new government that is still in existence today. By becoming Obama's ambassador to China, Jon Huntsman took a page out of the Founding Fathers' book. And their book is the Constitution. By calling Huntsman a RINO merely because he worked for Obama, you are choosing Hamas's philosophy over that of the Founding Fathers. Not to mention the fact that Huntsman was not Obama's Ambassador to China so much as he was our Ambassador to China. He was America's Ambassador to China, while Obama busied himself doing whatever he normally does. (Pissing away our money, playing golf, etc.) So even if Obama is in fact Satan (which is a theory I have not completely discarded yet. He might not be “Satan” Satan, but he could be an economic Satan), Huntsman did not exactly work with or for him. If you want to associate Huntsman with Obama, that is your business. But do not associate him with Obama's economic policies, and do not associate him with Obama's social policies. Jon Huntsman has a vastly different idea of what America ought to do over the next several years—and that is why he is running as a Republican, and looking to stop Obama's European semi-socialist plan.
