Tea Party in Boston as Bruins Bounce Canucks

Apparently, the U.S. even wins trophies that most Americans don't give a damn about. In dominating fashion, the Boston Bruins demolished the Vancouver Canucks 4-0 Wednesday night, capturing hockey's Stanley Cup four games to three. The win proved that, while the Canucks are good at running their mouths, the Bruins are good at winning hockey games. Canucks goaltender Roberto Luongo emerges as the goat of the series as his up and down play defined the Canucks team as a whole. He was brilliant at times, including posting a shutout in game 5, where the Canucks took a 3-2 series lead. Luongo then ran his mouth, saying he would not have allowed the goal that Thomas gave up. The Bruins turned that braggadocio into wins in games 6 and 7, winning the clincher on the road in Vancouver. While Boston fans celebrated with class their first Stanley Cup since 1972, Vancouver fans put down their hash pipes long enough to trudge through the snow and burn, loot, and riot. It appears the fans are as classless as the players. After receiving a cheap shot from Canuck Aaron Rome, Bruins forward Nathan Horton made the trip with the team to Vancouver for game 7. Horton hasn't played since the hit, which left him concussed and led the NHL to suspend Rome. Horton's presence helped provide that extra edge that led to a surprisingly easy road win.
