Rapper and producer Sean "Diddy" Combs is currently facing lawsuits alleging sexual assault by multiple parties. The storyline capturing attention around the world is seeing multiple documentaries released and bidding wars from streaming companies.

What Happened: Streaming leader Netflix Inc NFLX is no stranger to releasing documentaries on the platform. These movies or series often attract large audiences and have the potential to become viral sensations.

The streaming platform may have another highly anticipated documentary set for release. According to a TMZ report, Netflix won a bidding war for “Diddy Do It,” a documentary produced by 50 Cent's G-Unit Film & Television Studios.

Rapper 50 Cent has been teasing the project for months, and many didn't know if the documentary was real. 50 Cent has had a longstanding rivalry with Diddy dating back to a 2006 diss track "The Bomb" that alleges Diddy knows who killed The Notorious B.I.G.

The documentary centers on Diddy and his multiple lawsuits alleging sexual assault by models and former associates. The report said the documentary is multipart, suggesting “Diddy Do It” could be a multi-episode docuseries.

According to TMZ, the documentary will hit Netflix sooner than later.

Why It's Important: The new documentary that’s expected to land on Netflix comes as several other documentaries have hit the streaming sector.

TMZ partnered with Fox Corporation FOX FOXA owned Tubi on "TMZ Presents The Downfall Of Diddy."

Fox also released "What Diddy Do" on the Fox Nation streaming platform on April 18.

On Friday, video footage from an incident involving Diddy and his ex-girlfriend Cassie Ventura surfaced and brought the rapper back into the spotlight. Diddy issued a video apology of the incident after CNN released the footage.

Diddy previously denied the allegations of assault seen in the video, and has denied wrongdoing in other lawsuits. On Tuesday, model Crystal McKinney filed a civil lawsuit against Diddy alleging sexual assault in 2003.

The documentaries could add to the downfall of Diddy, who was previously one of the biggest producers in music. Diddy is known for helping produce and help the careers of artists including The Notorious B.I.G., Usher, Mary J. Blige and Faith Evans.

The controversy around Diddy led to Macy's M pulling clothing under the rapper's Sean John brand from stores.

Hulu, a streaming platform owned by The Walt Disney Company DIS, also cancelled a reality series centered on Diddy and his family, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
