Goldman to the Rescue? Suitors Circle MF Global

As MF Global (MF: 1.33, -0.10, -6.99%) races to survive, a number of suitors are reportedly circling the embattled futures brokerage, including CEO Jon Corzine's former employer: Goldman Sachs (GS: 115.96, +1.05, +0.91%). According to The Wall Street Journal, Goldman, State Street (STT: 41.82, +0.62, +1.50%) and Australia's Macquarie are all either eyeing New York-based MF Global or its parts. Other firms may also be looking at the company, but any deal would be expected to happen quickly as its stock plunged below $1 on Friday.
