Where is the U.S. Consumer?

The US consumer takes center stage today as both retail sales and consumer sentiment surveys are scheduled to be released. But, both reports aren't on a unified growth front however. Although retail sales are expected to regain some traction for the month, consumer sentiment is anticipated to lose it.
