Honda FQ2 Net Profit Rises 46%

Honda Motor Co

reported a 46% gain in its fiscal second-quarter net profit. Honda's quarterly net profit surged to Y120.37 billion ($1.23 billion), from Y82.23 billion, in the year-ago quarter. However, analysts were expecting a profit of Y142.90 billion. Its revenue rose to Y2.890 trillion from Y2.271 trillion, while operating profit increased to Y171.45 billion from Y100.8 billion. Honda shares closed at $40.22 yesterday.
