Neonode Inc.,
, the optical touch technology company, today
announces that it is cooperating with Volvo Cars to incorporate Neonode's
Multisensing™ technology into Volvo's new and connected infotainment device -
the Sensus Connected Touch. The Sensus Connected Touch is a complete 7-inch
touch panel operating on Google Android.
“The fact that Volvo has chosen to implement Neonode's Multisensing™
technology in to their new system is a testament to the high quality and
performance of our technology. The Volvo Sensus Connected Touch is a result of
very progressive thinking, and we are very honored to deliver an integral part
to this advanced system. The new Sensus Connected Touch signals a
much-anticipated modernization of in-car infotainment systems, where Neonode's
Multisensing™ solution provides a premium user experience and smooth
navigation. We look forward to seeing the system fully integrated into new
Volvo cars this year,” says Thomas Eriksson, CEO at Neonode.
Neonode's MultiSensing™ touch solution for the automotive industry is very
adaptable when it comes to design and operation, and is developed to fulfill
strict safety regulations. The technology provides a 100% transparent,
no-glare interface that is undisturbed by electrical interference or other
light sources such as sunlight. Neonode's Multisensing technology is based on
infrared light, enabling touch by any type of object such as gloved fingers,
car-keys, styluses or ordinary pens. Other benefits are built-in diagnostics
that provide a self-reliant system alerting its operational status to other
critical on-board systems.
The Sensus Connected Touch was pre-viewed at CES in Las Vegas and at the MWC
in Barcelona, and launched last week at the Geneva Motor Show 2013.
