UFA Co-operative Limited: Long-standing 4-H Member and Volunteer Inducted into 4-H Hall of Fame

CALGARY, ALBERTA--(Marketwire - Nov. 19, 2012) - UFA Co-operative Limited congratulates Tim Church, Petroleum Area Manager for UFA Central Alberta, for his induction into the 4-H Alberta Hall of Fame. Tim will be honoured during a special ceremony at the annual 4-H Alberta Leaders' Conference in Edmonton on January 12, 2013 for his contributions to the 4-H program.

"There were three things that really shaped my own youth," said Tim. "Growing up on a farm, participating in the ACCA Co-operative Youth Program and being a part of 4-H. 4-H is a way of life-you attend meetings every month, you have your 4-H project, you're in it and your family is in it with you."

Tim joined the 4-H program in 1969 at the age of 10 and has held numerous executive positions with the Hesketh and Hesketh-Orkney 4-H Beef Clubs. He is a previous board director for the 4-H Foundation of Alberta and has been an active volunteer within his community through the Alberta Rural Crime Watch, the ACCA Co-operative Youth Program, the UFA Community Investment Steering Committee and the Canadian Diabetes Association in Red Deer.

Since February of this year, Tim has been chair of the Marketing Action Committee, focusing on how to better market 4-H Alberta to recruit and retain new members.

"There are so many great opportunities for 4-H members as they continue through their years with the program, and we're continuously looking at ways to keep them involved," said Tim.
