Bank of East Asia H1 Net Profit Up 10%

Bank of East Asia Ltd

reported a 10% rise in its first-half net profit. The bank's net profit surged to 2.99 billion Hong Kong dollars (US$386 million), versus HK$2.71 billion, in the year-ago period. However, analysts were expecting a net profit of HK$2.40 billion. Bank of East Asia shares closed at $3.42 yesterday.
