UPDATE: Thomson Reuters Posts Higher Q1 Profit

reported a rise in its first-quarter profit. Thomson Reuters' quarterly profit climbed to $314 million, or $0.38 per share, from $250 million, or $0.30 per share, in the year-ago period. On an adjusted basis, Thomson Reuters earned $0.44 per share. Thomson Reuters' revenue surged to $3.654 billion, from $3.30 billion. However, analysts were expecting earnings of $0.39 per share on revenue of $3.127 billion. Thomson Reuters shares closed at $29.82 yesterday.
